LA: Its so hard to say Goodbye!

Last night, my wonderful mother hosted a "Send Off Cook Out" to celebrate my leaving and to allow my friends and family to have one last hoo-rah before I leave for Cali. I was so grateful to have so many of my closest friends and family members come out and support me. What I thought was going to be a small gathering ended up being a fun night with fabulous food and and even better friends! The night started off with people mingling and chatting it up, followed by the consumption of my dad's yummy BBQ (and my moms famous baked beans of course). Then we got into all the sappy stuff initiated by none other, than the hostess doing the "most-ess" A.K.A (well DST rather) my Mother! After a short speech informing everyone of my future plans...She proceeded to put my innocent guests on the spot. Despite the extreme awkwardness lol, my friends and family gave words of wisdom, advice, their blessings, and encouragement. Even Rob FAME (my bro) stood up and said a couple of words-and even got teary eyed. After all the congratulatory speeches, I managed to get pics with most of my guests. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful time all while watching the sunset over the reservoir (I'll miss the view but I heard the ones in Cali are pretty too). Overall it was a huge success and I truly and sincerely appreciate everyone coming out to support me and I will honestly miss everyone sooooo much. It definitely makes me feel loved. And the gifts weren't half bad either ;). It was a wonderful way to commence my time in MS and and start my new beginning in LA!

NYC: Housing Issues!!

Soooo, One thing I have learned about New York thus far, is that it is SUPER hard to find (affordable) temporary housing in the summer, or at least it has been for me. The demand is so high because so many interns, like myself, are on the hunt for a temporary, furnished places to stay for 3 months. Remember the NYU dorm that I was so excited about? Well...... that fell through. So now Im on to plan B. After a dozen last minute phone calls I have finally landed a spot in the FIT dorms. But Im pretty excited! Its right near the heart of the fashion district and walking distance to my internship office. Everything happens for a reason I suppose.

Today, SADLY, was my friend Andria's last day.  She will soon be packing up and heading to SAN FRANCISCO, CA! We're gonna miss her, but we're all very excited for her new adventure.

NYC: NEW York NEW Hair

SO , Yesterday I finally did it. I was sick of my plain statement- less hair. So I chopped it off! Well actually my sorority sister's mom chopped it off and I love her for it! Its so fun and light, just in time for the summer sun. I figured since I'm getting prepared to start a new path in life, I might as well go all out!
What do yall think?

NYC: Housing >:- (

SO, I wont actually move to New York until June, but in the mean time I have been searching for housing. New York is such a complex place in comparison to Mississippi, and after a long search I have finally found a place that has a few vacancies. I have applied to stay at BRITTANY HALL, one of the historic dorms on NYU's campus. Despite the fact that it has NO A/C , and I have to purchase a meal plan, I have been told that the location is good and the staff is friendly, so its a great place to meet new people. Did I mention its HAUNTED! Man I dont know WHAT Ive signed up for!! Google claims this dorm is haunted by the Brittany Hall Ghost, not to mention some guy set his dorm room on fire last month. Pray for me!
