Half way there...

My daily task as an intern changes from day to day. A designers day is never the same. There are all ways new deadlines and new challenges to face daily. One of my favorite task as a design intern is errand runs. Becoming familiar with the fashion district is very important. I enjoy fabric and trim shopping, but some times the choices can be a little over whelming.

Its always nice to be able to get away from the office, especially when Im able to bring the other interns along with me to help carry materials. We usually always have alot of fun together whether its shopping for shoes for the showroom or sneaking into a sample sale.

Outside of working, I love to eat! Its a bad habit but I love to try new restaurants!  Here are a few that I have enjoyed so far:

SHACK SHACK IN TIME SQUARE

FONDUE @ THE HILL

CUP CAKES @ BUTTER LANE IN MANHATTAN

NEVER BEEN HERE..... BUT IT LOOKS INTERESTING

 LOBSTER ROLLS @LUKES MANHATTAN

CORN AND BURRITOS @ HABANAS IN BROOKLYN
SOUL FOOD @ AMY RUTHS IN HARLEM

RED VELVET CAKE @ CAKE MAN RAVENS IN BROOKLYN

BUT, when Im not on the hunt for great food, I usually find myself exploring the city. I NEVER know what or who I might run into. SO FAR, the only celebrity that I have seen was JayZ but honestly.... Thats the only celebrity I need to see!Who would have thought!:-) I didnt take a picture though, I didn't want to look like a groupie!

LASTLY, I finally had my SECOND visitor! Jada, my sorority sister came down from Boston to say hi!
We had a long day together. It was her first time in New York so I had to show her all the sights.
Here are a few pics of our day:

A TRIP TO THE FASHION CENTER

HARLEM

 CENTRAL PARK RESERVOIR
 LITTLE ITALY
THE BULL

THE HUDSON

OVER ALL, life in the big city is pretty crazy, it can some times be very rough. Housing is slim, every thing's expensive and most people are pretty stressed. Its hard to find peace and to escape the massive amounts of people here. Some days I like it  and other days I just want to leave, but all and all I am enjoying the city thus far.

LA: Photoshoots, Styling, & Yoga

I had the wonderful opportunity to do some really cool things these pasts couple of weeks.
I assited with an Alexander McQueen photo shoot for CLD. I repeat.....ALEXANDER MCQUEEN. Being surrounded by his SICK creations all day long.....oh how I was in Heaven!

Then I had the opportunity to work with celebrity stylist Melinda Tarbell on a T-Mobile Projects. I did a lot of the go backs and got to go to some really cool places!

Warner Bros Costume Rental Studio
Apparently you have to have "Special Passes" that you have to request ahead of time to even get in the gates of the studio.
I felt pretty Legit

I went to a yoga class that changed my life forever. It was a three hour long class with a live musician, complete darkness (besides a couple of tea light candles) and a BEAST instructor.

I went with some of the inters.
