NEW YORK: Week 2 and 1/2

My Cab Driver's Quote!-

"NEW YORK IS GARBAGE! Excuse my language but it is! Its Americas trashcan in my opinion. Its a dirty city full of all types of junk and different people and crazy things. But every once in a while you find a few treasures in the trash and thats why we love it and thats why we stay. Its a love hate relationship!"- Random Cab Driver

I AGREE! So far thats exactly how it feels to me.

But One thing I do know so far, is that I love my internship at Anne Klein. The design teams are so talented and are genuinely nice people who are always willing to help me understand anything that is going on and challenge me to grow and learn the apparel business.
Anne Klein is a women's sportwear brand owned by the Jones Group. The Jone's Group is a brilliant apparel group with brands such as Jones New York, Rachel Roy and Nine West.
One of my favorite things about being an intern is the errand runs out into different parts of the city. The fashion industry is so fast pace and constantly changing, so everyday in the office is completely different from the last. There is never a dull moment or even down time for that matter, so when I do get a chance to get out of the office and make runs, I take advantage of the time.

I usually take lunch breaks in our break room, but on somedays I'm able to escape and have lunch in Bryant park with a sea of people!!
I do most of my work at my desk area, I dont do alot of computer work, I usually just use it for research and email updates. I finally added a little hotness to my area by adding a picture of Pharrell Williams!
And what have I been wearing to work??
Just been keeping it casual and comfy so that I can easily work.

So enough about work.....Since my last post I had QUITE a few FIRSTs!

FIRST TIME GETTING LOST ON THE SUBWAY

FIRST VISIT TO THE MET. (to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit)

FIRST TIME OUT TO SEE A BAND

FIRST PIC W/ GRAFFITI ART

ACCIDENTAL FIRST GAY PRIDE PARADE

 AND...... MY FIRST HOMETOWN VISITOR

LA:I HEART Ronson Summer Party

Ok so I've been crazy busy lately. Ill catch everyone up on what's been going on with my internship at Showroom Seven. We have been working really hard to get ready for tge I HEART Ronson event at the Spare Room in the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood. From sending out press invites, doing celeb pulls to stuffing jellybean jars, and merchandising the shopper's closet....the interns did it ALL. But I loved every minute of it. Here's a couple of pics from the event!

During our lunch break we pssed the infamous Hollywood Walk of Fame
....I know, I know...its a little "tour-isty" but I couldnt help myself lol

Overall the event was a huge success. I had the opportunity to really learn a lot about event production. I enjoyed seeing the press at work (even the paparzzi lol) as well as working with some of the professionals in the PR and Fashion industry. And it doesn't hurt that I was able to do some networking after the event.

After it was all said and done, me and Loro stayed behind and ironically got into an exclusive pool party at the Vault. Its funny how things just work out.

Couldn't belive we got in so I had to take a pic lol

Also, I just wanted to upload a couple of fits from work. It was pretty casual this week.
The entire fit happens to be from Forever 21....even the head band lol

Shorts- l.e.i.

Well thats all for now. I worked on a couple of projects for Chic Little Devil and an independent project as well and Ill post about it soon. Tootles for now!

NYC: Week One Outfit Review

So I just wanted to take a little time to go over the out fits I choose to wear for my first week. One thing that you'll notice is that I chose very simple and clean cut outfits, nothing too flashy but still fashionable. At my internship I do a lot of walking and errand running throughout the city, so I wear flats and clothes that I can easily work in.

MONDAY
I previewed Monday's outfit earlier in the blog.

TUESDAY
Satin New York and Company shirt with these great satin pleated satin pants I found at a local boutique.

WEDNESDAY
A cream cropped blazer from AzWell with an oversized graphic tank from JCP, gray distressed Jeggings and Madden girl oxfords from DSW.
THURSDAY
White AE button down with navy pleated trousers from H&M with black oxfords and one of my favorite black must-have bags that I carry EVERYTHING in from JCP (a place I shop at too much because I have a store card!)
 FRIDAY
I ended the week in a denim button down with a  leopard scarf I got from a vintage store in town and burnt orange trousers with classic brown loafers.
